DEGREASING

Degreasing is the process of removing grease, oil, dirt, and other contaminants from a surface or a part. It is an important step in many industrial and manufacturing processes, as well as in automotive, aviation, and other maintenance industries.

There are different methods for degreasing, including chemical, mechanical, and thermal methods. Chemical degreasers are typically used in industrial settings and can be applied through spraying, soaking, or wiping. Mechanical degreasing can involve scrubbing or pressure washing the surface with a brush or high-pressure water jet. Thermal degreasing involves heating the part to a high temperature, which causes the grease or oil to evaporate.

Degreasing is necessary for many reasons, including to prepare surfaces for painting, welding, or bonding; to improve the performance of mechanical parts by reducing friction; to prevent corrosion or other damage caused by contaminants; and to improve the overall cleanliness and appearance of the part or surface.

It is important to use appropriate safety precautions when handling degreasers, as some chemicals can be hazardous if not handled properly.
